Protecting Our Communities — Defending Our Borders — Honoring Legal Immigration
America was built by immigrants who came here legally, respecting our laws, our values, and our Constitution.
I proudly came to this country as a legal immigrant in 1978, and I know firsthand the honor and responsibility that comes with becoming part of the American family.
There is a right way to enter America — and a wrong way.
1. I Strongly Oppose Sanctuary Cities
Sanctuary cities do not protect families — they endanger them.
By refusing to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement, sanctuary policies:
- Allow violent criminals to remain on our streets
- Undermine the rule of law
- Invite human trafficking, drug cartels, and gang violence into our communities
- Burden taxpayers with billions in social services, healthcare, and education costs
- Make law-abiding citizens and legal immigrants less safe
When cities refuse to turn over violent offenders for deportation, they are putting political agendas ahead of the safety of our families.
As Governor, I will:
- Sign statewide laws banning sanctuary jurisdictions
- Ensure full cooperation between state law enforcement and federal immigration authorities
- End taxpayer funding for cities that violate federal law
- We will expose public officials that are accountable for putting criminal illegal aliens ahead of American citizens. Those public officials are your Mayor and City Council members of LasVegas.
- I will work to eliminate backdoor policies that undermine federal immigration law.
2. I support Legal Immigration
I support legal immigrants that strengthen Nevada and our nation.- but above all, I stand with the citizens of this state and country who uphold the law and carry this nation forward. Those who:
- Follow our laws
- Respect our Constitution
- Contribute to our economy and communities
- Pursue the American Dream through hard work and personal responsibility
These are the people who deserve opportunity, protection, and respect — not those who cut the line, break the law, or endanger others.
Every immigrant who entered legally honors our nation. Every citizen who obeys the law is the backbone of our republic. And as Governor, I will make sure they are the ones who are heard, protected, and prioritized.
Every immigrant who enters the right way strengthens America.
Every official who protects illegal criminals weakens it.
3. Defending Nevada’s Borders — Defending American Families
I support the voice of the American people to secure the border, eliminate sanctuary cities, and restore law and order across this nation.
As Governor, I will make it clear:
- Nevada is not a sanctuary state.
- We will defend American families, not harbor criminals.
- We will put the safety and sovereignty of Nevadans first — always.
Under Irina Hansen's Leadership:
1. Sanctuary policies will end or I will withhold state funding from cities that refuse to comply. I will make it very difficult for the City of Las Vegas to continue with those policies.
2. Legal immigration will be respected and prioritized.
3. Nevada will be a stronghold for law, order, and American values, not loopholes.
